Photos published by Dutch media show the first train car hung high on the tail fins of a whale after an incident near the port city of Rotterdam.
The train conductor was not injured in this accident.

The company that operates the subway line said there were no other people on the train, which arrived at the terminal in Speikenisė immediately after midnight.

The security service indicated that the driver was later detained for questioning. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The sculpture in question was erected about 20 years ago in a park under a railroad trestle. Its name is associated with a pun because the “whale’s tail” is called the end of a railway line.
A team of experts, including a sculpture architect, arrived at the crash site to decide how to safely remove the train.
“The problem is that there is water everywhere, so it will not be possible to send a crane there,” Gorter said. “It’s very windy at the moment and that’s one of the problems we’re having.”
