Linkevičius did not receive any job offer: the new minister will have to work in a tense international situation

Speaking of himself, L. Linkevičius assured that he still does not have job offers and, according to the minister, he is only concentrating and continues with his work.

“Foreign affairs, such as defense, security have a characteristic of continuity. I do not believe that anything here will fundamentally change. Especially since the president makes the most important decisions in foreign policy according to the Constitution. The crisis is not waning, especially what we care about is the eastern flank. There is tension in all countries, no matter what we mention, “said L. Linkevičius on Tuesday on the radio news program“ Pozicija ”.

The Minister also spoke about the unresolved situation in Belarus, Ukraine, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the pressure on Sakartvel.

“As we can see, the situation in Belarus is not resolved at all, it is in a complete stagnation on the part of the government, not the people, because they are very determined, but so far no change is seen. As you know, the aggression against Ukraine continues, the pressure on Sakartvel does not diminish, the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. There are many names to name. All these conflicts require attention and participation, “emphasized the Chancellor.

Speaking about his own career prospects, L. Linkevičius emphasized that he had not received job offers after the change of government after the elections, so he simply continued his work calmly.

“It is difficult to plan something in politics, because sometimes things change. So far we are doing our job and then we will see. (…) Neither clues nor suggestions. Just focus on doing the same job that’s right for you, and after the situation changes, there will be other options. It makes no sense to meet here now, “said the minister.

“I have no suggestions or considerations,” added L. Linkevičius.

ELTA recalls that at the press conference held on the Monday after the elections, the leader of the conservative list Ingrida Šimonytė and the president of the party Gabrielius Landsbergis stated that they would like to see a completely renewed Cabinet of Ministers.
