October 22, around 7 pm 10 minutes, Kalvarija municipality, on the Kalvarija – Vištytis road, the Škoda Superb car, driven by a man (born 1978), stopped.
The pursuit of police officers in Kalvarija Township, Jurgežeriai village, was stopped through the use of a forced vehicle stop (“hedgehog”).
In the car, 49 boxes of illegally transported excise goods (cigarettes) worth around 78,000 euros were found and seized.
The official vehicle was damaged during the car chase.
The suspect and those accompanying the shipment (born in 1981 and 1978) were arrested.
A pre-trial investigation was launched.
