In Kaunas county, 58 people were diagnosed with coronavirus, in Šiauliai – 28, in Klaipėda – 22, in Marijampolė – 15. Eight people were also infected in Panevėžys, three in Telšiai and Utena counties.
Nearly a third, or 60 out of 202 cases, of the circumstances of the infection are unknown: these residents did not travel abroad and did not communicate with people with confirmed COVID-19.
According to the NVSC, during the last day six import cases were registered in the country, two of them from the United Kingdom and Belarus and one from Germany and the United States each.
62 cases have been confirmed in people who became infected after contact with an infected person, but these cases are not classified as outbreaks based on preliminary data.
The virus is spread in kindergartens, medical institutions.
The NVSC reports that half of the 100 people infected in outbreaks per day. Larger outbreaks were recorded yesterday in the Vilnius “Žemyna” kindergarten; last day seven cases were confirmed here, and 32 cases are already associated with the outbreak at this educational institution.
A new outbreak has been recorded in Kaunas County, where seven people were infected at Pakelis Svirnelis café on October 10.
Four cases are related to the outbreak in the Department of Psychiatry of the Klaipėda Seafarers Hospital in Švėkšna. A total of eight cases have already been linked to this outbreak.
In Kaunas County, three cases were confirmed in the LSMUL Kaunas Clinics Department of Surgery outbreak. A total of 21 cases have already been linked to this outbreak.
In addition, three cases were confirmed in the “Taškius” kindergarten in Vilnius county. A total of six cases have already been linked to this outbreak.
Yesterday, two cases were confirmed in Klaipėda State College, Palanga Rehabilitation Hospital, Mars Lietuva companies, Studio Moderna in Vilnius, Panev Vožys Vocational Training Center, Jutrix company in Panevėžys.
During the day yesterday, 202 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the country, five deaths from COVID-19 were registered.
In Lithuania, a total of 7,928 cases of COVID-19 disease have been confirmed, 4,497 people are still ill and 3,276 have recovered.
