The politicians who participated in the elections in the single-member Paneriai-Grigišk demans constituency demanded the annulment of the results due to various discrepancies, at the same time that the CEC itself asked law enforcement to assess suspicions that the qualification records could have been forged in the Trakai Vokė district. The CEC is also recalculating the party’s ranking scores.
Both S. Markelevičius and Božena Jutkevičienė, the chairwoman of the Trakai Vokė District Commission, who has already been fired, blame fatigue and a heavy workload for the mistakes.
B.Jutkevičienė told BNS that she had worked successfully on the electoral commissions for several years, but this time she had received no help from other members of her commission for the entire week leading up to the elections and had to do all the work herself same, including the completion of the minutes on the Sunday of the elections.
The main problems began with the closing of the constituency and the attempt to enter the electoral data in the system – the system did not allow it due to errors, so all the procedures with the vote counting were carried out until Monday morning. tomorrow, other errors occurred.
“I was, you could say, I was alone, it was a job that I really did myself, although the secretary has to fill out the minutes, I asked for it, I prepared it, I sent the videos, but I see that the man is not getting it at all . I think that if I start to do it, it will be even worse, he stood up, went to count the votes and I tried to do something there, he doesn’t give me anything, everything is still red, ”said B. Jutkevičienė.
He acknowledged that the number of ballots found at the polls did not match the number of ballots issued to voters and ballots found, and that some ballots may be unsealed, but denied that this was done intentionally.
“Of course, there was a lot of fatigue: we worked from 9.15 on Saturday, we left people at home after eight o’clock at night and on Sunday, you can say, standing up,” said B.Jutkevičienė.
The former chair of the commission stated that she could not say anything about the CEC’s suspicions that in some of the bulletins, when writing to party-specific politicians, the entries were made by one person, apparently with the same handwriting and the same writing medium.
“I can’t really comment on that, personally I haven’t seen anything. Anyway, there are six people on the commission, if someone were to shoot him in the head, maybe somehow I could do it. But I didn’t really see anything with my own eyes. “, I make sure.
Of course, there was a lot of fatigue: we worked from 9.15 on Saturday, we let people go home after eight at night and on Sunday, you can say, standing up, said B.Jutkevičienė.
S.Markelevičius also said that the problems in the Trakai Vok area were due to B. Jutkevičienė taking on too much work and therefore unable to correctly enter the number of blank ballots received into the system; as a result, additional work stalled. There were no problems in the other neighborhoods that were delegated to him.
“He was not successful with the program, the accounting for the newsletters was mixed, we tried to correct it a bit, but it was very difficult to track down the errors. The president has simply taken on too much work for himself that he didn’t have to do. She had to work mainly with the program, observe the order and did everything herself: register people, distribute the ballots at the same time, resolve the complaints of the voters. And so all day, and it was a line without interruption, since our district is close, we have seen it ”, explained S. Markelevičius.
He claimed that he had not realized that commission members could falsify qualification scores; In his opinion, law enforcement officials would have to clearly answer the question whether there was counterfeiting or whether employees could have contributed to it.
Other discrepancies are, in his opinion, the fault of “human error” and not malicious acts.
“We also dealt with a larger number of voters, but the team just had no experience, maybe they weren’t very willing to work, to help the president, maybe that’s why he left. I don’t think anyone really did it maliciously, But fatigue did its thing, we finished work in the area maybe at 9:30 in the morning, ”he explained.
S. Markelevičius assured that such problems could have been avoided if both he and B. Jutkevičienė had had previous experience in leadership in elections.
We also dealt with a larger number of voters, but the team had no experience, maybe it was not very willing to work, help the president, maybe that’s why he left, said S. Markelevičius
“She is working as president for the first time, she could have put her foot in the same way, which probably would have put her foot in me, because if she had had more experience, she probably would have closed the ward without counting those votes, I would just seal my bags collected, neatly recalculated, not the same night, “he said.
S. Markelevičius was a delegate to the electoral commission for the Lithuanian Social Democratic Labor Party (LSDP), B.Jutkevičienė for the Russian Alliance. Both are no longer working with the elections, and Pijus Savickas, a representative of the “peasants”, has been appointed to lead the Paneriai-Grigiškės electoral district.
Representatives of the Union of Christian Families of the Lithuanian Polish Election Campaign (LLRA-KŠS) and the Labor Party request the CEC to cancel the results in the electoral district of Paneriai-Grigiškės and recalculate the votes in all of Lithuania due to identified violations. According to politicians, the large number of ballots cast and found at the polls, as well as the unsealed ones, and the aforementioned fact that the qualification scores on multiple ballots are written with the same ballot, the same handwriting is questionable. The CCA asks law enforcement to investigate the latter case.
