The Baltic Petroleum gas station had to be transported to an auto repair shop due to suspicion of poor quality fuel. The representatives of the gas stations are not responsible, but the complaint will be evaluated.
The tank is full
“On September 30, shortly before noon, at around 11.30 am, in Vilnius, Savanorių Avenue, at the Baltic Petroleum gas station, a man refueled for about 50 euros. On Monday (October 5 – last car) we drove about 200 With about a third of the fuel in the tank, the car’s engine just died, “said Monika, who was interviewed by the newspaper, who this time visited the gas station with her husband.
The woman does not hide, her family habit is not very good, because in both Volvo cars she drives until the yellow light begins to flash, warning that the fuel tank is almost empty.
“Every time we go to the gas station, as much as we can and how much we fill. However, the information computer of the car also showed that we could still drive about 40 km, the tank was almost empty,” the interlocutor opened.
I had to look for teachers
October 5 the car stopped on the Utena-Ukmergė highway, for which I had to call a car and transport the vehicle to a car repair shop in the capital, where, according to the woman, a diagnostic examination was carried out initial.
“We ourselves knew that if the filter clogged, it had to clean itself; it burned in 10 to 15 minutes at medium speed, but the car started to shake and steal, so we stopped and turned off the engine.” The example of the Master captured in the photo is not pumped out of the tank and does not rise from the bottom. Here is the fuel that is released from the engine compartment, “shared the interlocutor.

Much cost
After inspecting the family’s vehicle, the mechanic discovered, according to the woman, that the entire fuel supply system of the vehicle was clogged and that the fuel tank needed to be washed or replaced. It is also necessary to flush the fuel supply system, replace all filters. It is planned to try to purge the nozzles, the injection system, but it is not known if it will be successful. If this fails, the nozzles will need to be replaced.
Only after all this can we start the engine and diagnose if there are more breakdowns. If we can wash the nozzles, change the filters and clean the system, it will cost us about 400-500 euros. Nobody knows if it will work or not. We will have to change the injectors, and each of them is quite expensive, “explained Monika, saying that the car’s engine may not start, but the family hopes for the best.
The interlocutor informed the representatives of the Baltic Petroleum gas station network about the case by email. It is true that you have not yet decided whether to seek compensation from the gas station by legal means.
“I’m just afraid that any other action will further increase our costs and damage our nerves. I was hoping that more people would respond when I posted this information, but if drivers fill 10-15 liters of fuel each time, saving money, maybe fuel be diluted that way. ” the interlocutor considered.
Submitted your version
Marius Kliokys, director of trade for petroleum products at Baltic Petroleum, confirmed that the case was known, but presented his own version.
“Yes, we have received a complaint from a customer that matches the description you provided. Among other things, it also indicates that the customer uses the services of at least two other service station networks,” he wrote, highlighting points that the Baltic Petroleum’s gas stations aims to maximize the protection of customer assets.
According to M. Kliokis, fuel to service stations is delivered with quality documents that confirm the fuel’s compliance with all applicable standards in Lithuania. Sediment filters are also said to be installed in service stations.
“The technical condition and cleanliness of the tanks are periodically inspected by the responsible services and the service station personnel in accordance with the deadlines and procedures established in the Service Station Operation Rules. During the last week there were no other complaints about the quality of the fuel purchased at the network’s service stations, ”said the representative.
According to M. Klokis, upon receipt of a claim of a similar nature, all relevant information will be forwarded to the insurance company, which, after impartially evaluating all the circumstances, will make a decision on the validity of the claim.
Specialist observations
“Judging from what you can see in the photo, the fuel is really cloudy, cloudy. Therefore, the problem may be due to the fuel. When they are, the fuel filter cannot collect everything. In this case, the sediment enters the car’s engine compartment, the fuel system, the injectors, the fuel pump, therefore the system clogs, becomes dirty and that is why the car stops circulating ”, explains Mindaugas Gineika, representative of Renvoja Car Service .

The specialist also did not rule out the possibility that a small amount of fuel had remained in the gas station tanks, which had been added to the car’s tank almost from below.
“Once in the car, the fuel by itself could not become like this. They had to be already filled like this,” he considered.
Once in the car, the fuel itself could not become like this. Thales had to be already full.
When asked if this could not have happened due to the negligence of the car, M. Gineika rejected this possibility.
“I really can’t imagine making the fuel system that way. Unless the fuel doesn’t come from gas stations, but from boats,” he said.
M. Gineika hinted that similar images, which are captured in Monika’s photo, are rare, but these cases also occur in her practice.
“Customers were spilled poor fuel also from gas stations, I don’t know which ones, so I had to flush the vehicle’s system, change the injectors,” said a representative from the auto service.
