Police officers have already detained one of the suspects, who allegedly broke into a home in Lazdijai on Monday, along with two other masked men, where a woman and a minor daughter were tied up and a man set on fire.
The man was detained by the joint police together with agents of the State Border Guard Service during the operation in the Lazdijai area.
AlytusPlius.t recalls that on Monday, three masked men broke into a house in Lazdijai, Kauno Street, who tied up a woman and a thirteen-year-old daughter there, threatened them with a pistol and demanded to tell them where the money was.
When the man returned home, the robbers took a horrible step and set him on fire.
200 euros and two gold rings were stolen from the house.
According to Kristina Janulevičienė, head of the communications subdivision of the Alytus County Police Chief Commissariat, the injured person’s condition is very difficult, he is currently in Kaunas clinics and undergoing resuscitation.
The Lazdijiškės say that the thieves who broke into the home of the wounded man treated him brutally. They first took the owner to the bathroom and beat him hard, then tied him up and set him on fire.
People who lived nearby said that the roof of the house had come off, every corner was looking for money.
The wounded man is well known to law enforcement agencies for dealing with smuggling.
The residents of Lazdijai consider that probably, in this story, “accounts” have not been done, so the attackers decided to “fix” things in this way. According to them, the wounded man in the hospital allegedly even did police officers did not name her potential abusers.
