According to preliminary data, of 58 of the 71 counties, the Social Democrats collected 10.72 percent. votes in fourth place, they receive 9 seats. Third is the Labor Party, which raised 12.70 percent. voter support.

“Obviously that small percentage difference exists, and the Labor Party may have surprised everyone, including us. That is what the voices absorbed and why they did not fall in love with the Social Democrats, and the Labor Party will probably be explained by political scientists and we will be a little later, later. And now we are preparing for the second round, ”said G. Paluckas.

The leader of the Social Democrats assured that negotiations on the formation of the ruling coalition will not begin on Sunday night.

“There are no negotiations today, there are no coalitions, there are no talks,” said the politician.

According to Paluck, when the votes come from the big cities, the Social Democrats have a chance to outperform the workers.

“It just came to our knowledge then. Let’s wait, let’s see, we count. We are not predicting anything, we are preparing to fight in the second round. This is our main concern,” said the Social Democratic leader.

G. Paluck himself should enter the second round of elections in the single-member constituency of Utena. Here he fights with Conservative MP Edmund Pupinis.

„[Rezultatus] I appreciate it a lot. We have only one member, a Conservative representative who has served there for three terms. And the voices of the center-left spread, spread. We will try to collect them all before the second round. I think the situation is very bad, ”said G. Paluckas.

The Social Democratic leader said before the elections that the main goal was to improve the 2016 result when the LSDP gathered 17 seats.

“I don’t know when I’ll count everything and see who made it to the second rounds. There were 9 for a moment, then 7, when I count them all, then we’ll see how many of those second rounds are here. Maybe a little less than planned, but we will fight for all, ”said G. Paluckas.

According to the leader of the Social Democrats, he was surprised by the performances of both parties. First of all, it is the Labor Party, which is ahead of the Social Democrats themselves, and the Freedom and Justice Party.
