Due to the spread of COVID-19, events are coming to a halt in Plungė and some students will study remotely.

Such decisions were made by the head of the district Emergency Operations Center Mantas Česnauskas, announced the municipality.

The Old Town school principal has been instructed to organize education remotely until October 23 inclusive. The directors of other educational institutions in the district may organize distance learning for individual classes and groups, depending on the number of sick or exposed people in the community.

Children who are distance learners should also receive non-formal distance education.

Access to the Plungė District Hospital is restricted.

Leisure events are prohibited until October 23.

According to Plungė Municipality, 22 cases of coronavir were officially confirmed in the district on Monday.

Most of the cases – 14 – were detected in the Technoexport Storage Lt company, six in the Old Town School, one in the Plungė District Municipal Hospital and in the municipal administration.

According to the municipality, information is available that the laboratory confirmed that positive tests were obtained for all four members of the hospital staff examined.
