According to the Presidency report, the Taurage region will focus on social protection: issues of access to social services, problems of the elderly and people with disabilities, development of services for them, faster increase and indexation of pensions of old age, implementation of the nursing care reform.
The President will meet with the mayors of four municipalities in the Taurage region, who will sign a regional agreement on the development of a common public transport system in the Taurage region in the presence of the Head of State.
G. Nausėda will also meet representatives of older people and organizations that provide them with social assistance, visit the Day Center for People with Disabilities and communicate with the youth of Tauragė.
The meetings will focus on the availability of pre-school education, prevention of corruption, public contracting, shortage of specialists, protection of the environment, etc.
The president’s advisers, in turn, will meet with specialists in the field: heads of municipal education departments and representatives of educational support units, heads of preschool and primary education institutions, Regional Cultural Council, representatives of the regional police, border and fire protection forces, wind farm developers, Tauragė district. judicial representatives, etc.
First Lady Diana Nausėdienė will go to Tauragė along with educators from the State Cognition Center, who are organizing citizenship workshops for students of all ages “Know, discover, create your country!”
The president has already worked with the team in the regions of Kaunas, Utena, Telšiai, Marijampol Pa, Panevysžys, and has participated in meetings with representatives of the Klaipėda region remotely under quarantined conditions.
