Paluck: Supporting ‘peasant’ candidates does not mean LSDP is inclined to join the coalition

As Paluck told Eltai, that solution is necessary to mobilize the left-wing voter in the country. According to him, despite the speeches of R. Karbauskis about possible coalitions of the LSDP with the conservatives, the fact that the Social Democrats will support the left-wing parties was clear in the past.

“In the last three weeks, when Ramūnas started talking about some kind of conspiracies, we have repeatedly made it clear that our duty is to be a center-left coalition: whether to form or join that party. Perhaps the louder the scream, the better. But I have said it many times and the other members of our party have said it. This is now a natural mobilization of voters from the left and right to have as many left or right as possible in the Seimas, ”said G. Paluckas.

However, according to him, this statement by the LSDP does not mean that the Social Democrats, having the opportunity to form a ruling majority, will do so only together with the “peasants”.

“It is too early to talk about coalitions. As long as there are no mandates, there are no coalitions,” explained G. Paluckas.

On the other hand, continue politicians, that possibility is not ruled out, because the rainbow coalition, he said, is simply not possible.

“On the right, everything is clear: he is a conservative with a couple of liberal parties. And on the left, there are likely to be “peasants” as well, who will receive the most seats, and a stronger socialist after the second round. Everything is very simple: the rainbow is not born, it is not really born. If the people elect more rightists in the second round, then the coalition is in the forefront of the right with the conservatives, if the left is in the lead. But there will be no rainbow, “Paluck said.

As one of the alternatives, G. Paluck mentioned the fate of the opposition Social Democrats.

“The party can remain in the opposition if it decides that the programs are incompatible or that there are other problems. So far we are not talking about the coalition, but the left and right blocs are obvious,” summarized G. Paluckas.
