R. Karbauskis emphasized that in 2016. he had 47 second rounds in the election, now 33 second rounds. Such a result, according to the politician, worse than last year.

“Now the only thing that can be talked about is that it could be with the party candidates in certain districts who will support our candidates or the candidates of our opponents. In the second round, our most common competitor is the Conservative Party candidates. Ramūnas Karbauskis, the leader of the ruling “peasants” who ranked second in the multi-member constituency, says that if his party were in the opposition, it would be more constructive than the Conservatives, who received the most votes in the multi-member constituency.

“If we are in the opposition, we will be a constructive opposition. We will definitely not do what our colleagues did, constantly drawing cards, trying to make the laws unacceptable,” R. Karbauskis said at a press conference after the Seimas elections.

“But on the other hand, I think we will be a strong enough opposition,” he added.

R. Karbauskis did not rule out that the “peasants” could still form a new government, in which case the priority would be the continuity of work.

After the first round of elections – second place

LVŽS raised 17.5 percent in the first round of the elections. votes and came in second place.

The preliminary number of mandates for the Lithuanian Union of Greens and Peasants is 16. The first to be classified on the electoral list was Saulius Skvernelis, who has already obtained 54 thousand priority votes. Ramūnas Karbauskis is second, followed by Aurelijus Veryga.
