“It just came to our attention four years ago. I’ve already talked about that a lot, so I’ll be quiet now. Let’s see what the results will be, ”he said.
He said that victory was the first place he won.
“The victory, I mean very seriously, would be if we had a center-left government and a majority,” said the prime minister about the desired electoral result.
“According to the initial results, the center-left government could be made up of the LVŽS, the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP), the Labor Party, maybe something else will happen,” said the politician.
And he said he expected current coalition partners to cross the 5 percent cartel.
LVŪS leader Ramūnas Karbauskis hinted on election night that he would also see a coalition with the Union of the Fatherland – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, if later the high-ranking representatives of the Christian flank would appear in the first position.
The prime minister said that he did not see himself personally in such a coalition.
“The party can decide of its own free will, but I do not see myself personally in the ruling majority. (…) Regarding the current leadership of the party, the leaders who are now in the Seimas, are not acceptable to me either as politicians or as people, ”he said.
The prime minister did not want to participate in the forecasts either. And the 5 percent cartel, according to him, should be traversed by about 5 political parties.
S. Skvernel joked that the prime minister’s term was like 3 universities.
“I really didn’t think I would put up with those four years of study. (…) The experience is very simple, ”he said about the four-year cycle.
The prime minister said he had so far discussed possible joint work after the Seimas election only with current coalition partners. The politician did not rule out that talks could begin tonight within the framework of the new ruling coalition.
“It will be possible today morning if someone can bear it, or tomorrow if we are serious. It is possible that after the first results in the multi-member, when it is clear, a center-left bloc will form, which will agree to cooperate,” said the prime minister to journalists.
