The LTOK Executive Committee is composed of: the President, the Secretary General, 3 Vice Presidents, a representative of the Athletes, the Treasurer and 6 ordinary members.
All were elected by secret ballot of 67 LTOK members for a four-year term, but A. Pukelis did not get enough votes to be on this list.
A. Pukelis is currently the vice president of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), for which the institution is constantly criticized. However, both A. Pukelis and LFF are not limited to one position: the man’s candidacy was nominated for election to the LTOK Executive Committee (SC).
“It’s my first time here and I’m talking, that’s what I feel. I don’t know of any federation where the president can elect seven members. I see them belittling and humiliating themselves, speaking of position and opposition. Until that changes, you won’t have youngsters, change. You will be elected, if you stay, change the statutes. For there to be democratic elections, because it is necessary to change the statutes and the number of mandates, ”said A. Pukelis in the speech of the assembly to D. Gudzinevičiūtė.
A.Pukelis and the LTOK president had a brief dispute over the LFF bylaws, but soon the man stopped talking: “My mission is over.”
D. Gudzinevičiūtė strictly reiterated that it would be necessary to change the statutes of the organization so that only people of impeccable reputation could be present.
“There are a lot of technical ambiguities in the statutes that need to be changed. This is a poor job done by a former attorney. Changing the system, as Mr. Pukelis suggests, is again up for debate, but I don’t think so. He has been blamed for the age of the individuals, but I don’t know … I don’t think that’s the point.
Another point that will need to be added is the impeccable reputation of those elected to the governing bodies.
I sincerely hope that our General Assembly is prudent. I do not believe that the presence of Pukelis as a member of the assembly, I do not even speak of being a member of the VK, gives us a prestige that we have just earned ”, interrupted D. Gudzinevičiūtė A. Pukelis with a smile and ironic intonation.
