The protests in Belarus have lasted for almost eight weeks.
The Vesna Center for Human Rights spoke about 10 detainees, including journalists, as soon as the campaign began. The videos showed uniformed members of the security forces loading women onto buses by their arms and legs. People were also detained near supermarkets.
The women gathered in various groups for the Women’s Solidarity March. Through demonstrations every Saturday, they want to support opposition spokesperson Sviatlan Cichanouskaya, whom they consider the real winner of the August 9 elections. A. The number of protesters arrested in Minsk has reached 24 – human rights activists
Twenty-four people were arrested during a women’s march in Minsk on Saturday, the Viasna law enforcement center said.
Among those arrested are street musicians.
Viasna human rights activists have been informed that musicians from the band BEST SOUND BAN have been detained at the Jacob’s Colossus Square crossing.
According to preliminary information, we are talking about four musicians.
“They were arrested along with all the musical instruments. Before that, they sang the Victor Coy song “Peremen!” (I want a change) as a column of protesters passed by, “said human rights activists.
According to the center, some detainees, including Belarusian opposition activist Nina Baginskaya and Euroradio journalist Julia Motuzova, have already been released.
There are still no official data on the number of detainees.
According to various estimates, between 100 and 200 people participate in the march.
The protesters will carry flags, flowers and posters.
Furthermore, information emerged that the “Jacob’s Colossus Square” metro station in Minsk had been closed, in addition to the already closed “Victory Square” station, although the Minsk metro press service had not yet commented on the reports.
