Earlier Thursday, the portal tut.by, citing lawyer Viktaras Mackevičius, reported that it had not been possible to contact L. Kazak since noon.
“1 pm 50 min. Lyudmila broke up with her colleague whom she met on Communist Street. She rushed to the court hearing. She did not appear in court. The car parked on Komunistinė street has been locked, ”said the lawyer.
The official Telegram channel of the former candidate for the presidency of Belarus, Viktor Babaryka, confirmed this information.
“It is impossible to contact Lyudmila Kazak’s lawyer, Maryja Kalesnikava, after 1 pm 50 minutes,” the report said.
He adds that an appeal must be lodged on Friday against the decision of the Minsk court on the preventive measure against M. Kalesnikava.
V. Mackevičius noted that L. Kazak’s spouse had submitted an application to the Minsk Central District Internal Affairs Board regarding the abduction of a person.
Mr. Kalesnikava, a member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council, was arrested in early September on the Belarus-Ukraine border. His colleagues later reported that his officials wanted to be forcibly removed from the country, but he broke his passport at the border.
Mr. Kalesnikava and the members of the Coordination Council, lawyers Ilya Saley and Maxim Znak, are in custody accused of requesting actions that threaten national security.
The Belarusian law enforcement organizations have recognized them as political prisoners.
In Belarus there have been unprecedented protests for the second month in a row since the presidential elections on August 9, announced by Aliaksandr Lukashenko, who has ruled the country since 1994. The opposition and western countries consider these elections to be rigged.
On August 18, supporters of Sviatlan Cichanouskaya, a former Belarusian presidential candidate, formed a Coordination Council to organize a peaceful transfer of power, but virtually all members of his presidency have been arrested or expelled from Belarus.
The Belarusian government considers the Coordination Council to be an unconstitutional body.
