“We are trying to move the reconstruction of the Klaipeda road from Smiltyne to Neringa (Nida – BNS), there is of course a problem of protected areas. People need this road to be widened and then renewed. We are working on that, ”Jaroslav Narkevičius told LRT radio on Tuesday.
“Work is being done on making it compatible between protected areas and between the Road Administration and the municipality to expand this road, because we know that it is in poor condition,” said the minister.
He also said that reconstruction of the cycle path connecting Smiltyne and Nida is planned in the near future.
“The Highway Administration is carrying out the design and the acquisition will start soon, in accordance with environmental protection, in other words, the trail will be completely renovated by 2025, three stages, one stage will be completed by 2023.” Therefore, the works are developing intensively, “said J. Narkevičius.
