D. Lajevskis relayed that M. Znakas believes that refusing food in prison is one of the few remaining ways to fight anarchy and injustice in Belarus.
“The accusations, as well as the accusations, are not yet specified, so it is not clear which of Maxim’s statements are considered detrimental to the security of the state, which still amounts to persecution for expressing an opinion,” said the lawyer by Znmit, Dzmitry Lajevski. It is listed by the portal tut.by.
“Due to the illegal prosecution and arbitrary arrest, attorney Maxim Znak officially announced his refusal to eat on September 18, at which time the charges were filed. He informed the administration of the preventive prison in writing, “said his legal advisor.
According to Znak, refusing to eat at the detention center is “one of the few left to fight anarchy and injustice in the country,” Lajevski added.
“Maxim Znak explained that refusing food should encourage everyone, especially law enforcement officials, to remember the spiritual and moral values on which the law is based and not to destroy them,” the lawyer stressed.
Lawyer M. Znak was arrested on September 9 in Minsk.
After winning the presidential elections and soon being forced to flee to Lithuania, Sviatlana Cichanouskaja and her supporters formed a Coordination Council calling for a dialogue to take place, which would also discuss the organization of presidential elections.
However, almost all the Coordinating Councils are currently detained or forced to leave the country. Only the Nobel Prize winner Sviatlana Alexeyevich remained in Belarus and in general.
