According to a press release issued by the Vilnius city municipality, this is an expensive decision after Artūras Zuokas, a member of the city council, won the competition and soon announced that he had no intention of running.

For the capital city, the organization of this contest, selection and diffusion of advertisements cost more than 6.1 thousand. The organization of the new tender will also cost the same.

August 25 The contest for the position of head of VASA had the participation of 10 candidates and was organized by a recruitment company hired by the municipality.

The new contest will be announced next week on the Public Function Portal. The city administration expects effective solutions from the new VASA manager in the implementation of the Vilnius city waste management strategy.

“We do not plan to change the requirements for candidates, and the proposed salary ranges will be reviewed and published in the near future. Management has set high expectations for these positions and will wait for the best candidates, as the new director or manager of VASA will have to create a specific plan for the implementation of the waste management strategy in Vilnius. Of course, we hope that this time the new winner will not escape from work and start working immediately, “said Lina Koriznienė, Director of the Department of Human Resources Management.

VASA was established in 2015 by decision of the Vilnius City Council, implementing the provisions of the Waste Management Law, or the so-called waste reform, and in order to ensure efficient administration of the waste management system in the municipalities.
