SLI inspected employers: most violations were due to partial downtime

In July-September, the SLI conducted special unscheduled inspections of the legality control of downtime, during which it was clarified if there were objective circumstances due to the employer’s declaration of downtime due to an emergency situation. following the employer’s instructions for your job duties, if partial downtime has been declared, or has been done in accordance with the requirements of the Labor Code.

After 193 inspections, violations were detected at 17 companies in the manufacturing, catering, transportation, medical and retail sectors. 10 administrative infraction protocols were collected, 10 requirements to eliminate infractions and 1 recommendation. A potentially illegal work case was registered and is being investigated further.

During the campaign, most of the infractions detected by the SLI are related to the announcement of partial inactivity time, such as not indicating the start and end times of employees who have been declared part-time, not indicating reduced hours, if this time is downtime or if it is possible abuse by the employer.
