In the coming years, a railway crossing loaded exclusively with traffic will be rebuilt at Lentvaris and a car tunnel will be installed under the track.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications announces that this will improve traffic conditions in Lentvaris, which is divided into two parts by the railway line, and due to the heavy train traffic at the crossing, jams are constantly occurring.
SE Lithuania Road Administration (LAKD) has signed an agreement with Tilsta for the reconstruction of the Lentvaris railway crossing and the new construction of the tunnel. The value of the contract is 20.7 million. Eur with VAT. The works must be completed within the 9 months following the entry into force of the contract, excluding the annual technological pause of 3 months.
6 offers were submitted for the contest. The offers were evaluated based on profitability when selecting the best offer, taking into account the relationship between price and quality criteria. In this contracting, the qualitative criteria are the term of execution of the works in months from the entry into force of the contracting contract, the additional duration of the legal guarantee period in years and the price.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the joint activity agreement between LAKD, the Trakai District Municipality and AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai. The project is funded by the European Union’s Road Development and Maintenance Program and investments.
