Now we will leave Marseille alone and without rushing, we will head towards Nice in a rented car, still stopping to see the local beauties. The plans included not only a beautiful beach, but also a stop for the night somewhere in the vineyards of Provence.
True, car rental prices came as an unpleasant surprise. I have rented cars in expensive countries like the United States, United Kingdom or New Zealand, but here the rental price has crushed them all. The cheapest economy four-door car costs 120 euros a day without any additional insurance or other services. At first I even thought about the error here. After all, bans have yet to be added. A year ago, traveling in Northern Ireland I paid about 40 euros for a similar car. I do not know why it is like that, maybe it is a country of wealthy tourists. It was the most expensive rental of my trips.
Or maybe there are other reasons. Perhaps one of them is that this region of France has the highest number of accidents in the whole country. This is partly due to the fact that the region is mountainous, most of its roads are narrow and winding. Also, during the summer, the coastal roads are very busy, full of foreigners driving cars with a different driving culture than the locals. According to people from other regions of France, when Blue Coast drivers are behind the wheel, the ‘not everyone home’ mode is on, so only brave people can drive in this region.

The locals also warn that driving through the streets of Monaco that coincide with the track of the Formula 1 Monte Carlo Grand Prix, we would in no way try to feel like car drivers, as the Monaco police will increase their holiday estimate by a distinct amount. remarkable.

However, I cannot confirm this fact, because we do not feel anything special in road traffic. Apparently because those tourists don’t make a lagoon this year.
That’s not its loophole, maybe it’s better to drive, but there are other nuances to why it’s not that great. One of them is that tourists find it easier to attract the attention of villains.
From Marseille, we did not drive on the motorway that will reach Nice very quickly, but on the coastal road through villages and beaches, stopping where the heart said it would be fine. So, at one point, the navigation offered to stop at the beach. Hearts agreed, so we parked on the sidewalk where several more cars were parked and had fun climbing a cliff onto the beautiful beach. It was stony and the sea was emerald. I can even say its exact name: Le Liouquet Beach. Awesome name, huh? In French, it is pronounced even more romantically, somehow similar to Liu ljuke.

So enjoying the beautiful Liu Ljuku or puppies on the beach, full of the best impressions, we returned to the car and opened the trunk. We wanted to change because clothes, like all things, were left in the backpack. And what do you think of yourself? The trunk was perfectly empty, even gleaming from order. Our backpacks with all travel items were stolen from the locked trunk. There were no signs of breakage, only a barely noticeable scratch was seen near the lock.
In a situation in which the trip remains like you on the beach, that is, with “we become rabbits”, and there are three more days to be in the field, the joy is, of course, small. Soon, much more appeared because we realized that even though everything was gone, phones and passports were not left in backpacks. As well as being a phone for life, you can even pay for it when you shop if your money and cards are stolen. And it’s nice that modern “rabbits” have pockets where you can put a phone and passport while swimming.

Basically, the backpacks contained items that were important and dear to us, but not to thieves. Unhealthy expensive stolen companion glasses with various glasses (I had no idea the abnormal prices of glasses these days), they could only decorate a sparrow scarecrow. Backpacks, clothes, medicine or car keys left in Lithuania were a waste and a headache for us, but thieves can at least scratch their butt with those keys by wearing Lithuanian sandals or a hat for fun in general. Lithuanian book thieves probably won’t read either, and will also be able to sweep the aforementioned butt with blocked bank cards. It is true that there was a hundred euros in cash in a wallet, so at least they could not count it as net profit.

We naively hoped that the thieves would run and open the backpacks, see that there was nothing of value in them and just throw them away or at least shake things up. And what do you think? After walking for a while, we found a backpack in the bushes on the way. The joy lasted a few seconds until it became clear that this was not our backpack. Still, we took it and when we opened it, we saw a bunch of car stealing tools: various screwdrivers, pliers, drills, a soldering iron, and all sorts of demons, which I didn’t even identify. If we’ve already suffered a loss, let them suffer too – we grab the backpack and throw those tools a slash off the cliff, including the backpack itself, out of the rage. Let it be time to upgrade your equipment.
My backpacks were very unfortunate for me, they were beautiful and immortal, they bought them at the Kaunas bulk base when Brazauskas was still the prime minister, in 2004.
We grabbed the backpack and threw those tools of rage a sip off the cliff, including the backpack itself.
Be that as it may, the situation was very unpleasant, but not critical. That is why we did not call the police because we thought we would waste a lot of time trying to talk to them and still not find our things. We spit out almost everything and head to the closest supermarketo buy toothbrushes or something.

For the rest of the day, we didn’t do anything serious anymore because we were feeling a bit cloudy, so we went to a casual vineyard to wash up the fresh. The kind-hearted owner, to the extent that her poor English allowed, showed me around the estate and told me how wine is born. Much could not be seen because the grapes were still roasting in the fields and no one was making wine. One can only look at the aggregates and imagine how that wine is generated in them. For this, the woman tirelessly served various types of wine to taste after the entire tour, and we thanked her for buying many bottles because we still had the money stolen.

Well, what about the trapped Saint Tropez? I had heard he was more wonderful in songs and movies than in reality, so I didn’t have high expectations. But it was not so bad, although the beginning was not good. There is basically only one road to Saint Tropez so it is constantly clogged in summer. We had driven a few miles for over an hour and had even begun to wonder if we needed it all. But since the way back was analogously stuck, we performed it to the end.
It is a lively and bustling city full of luxury yachts. Prices, starting with parking, are a bit high, but there is nothing to be desired, it is probably the most famous resort in France. Not everyone will be able to relax in it, but everyone can go, spend a couple of hours and eat ice cream for three euros. I would just say that you should choose your beach more carefully to take a bath, because the public beach on the other side of the Citadel is No something – remote, small and dusty, apparently intended for the poorest class.

On the other hand, you can’t worry too much about the beach, as you will find many beautiful cities with beaches and cheaper parking on the way from the Saint Tropez seafront road to Cannes. It will not be boring either for the eyes or for the imagination.
Would you recommend going to the Côte d’Azur now? Of course. You can be quite comfortable there until the end of October, so if you’re not afraid to sit in isolation after the trip, you can still have a vacation this year. Flights are very cheap now, I heard.
