Skvernel says he has trouble imagining a coalition with the Conservatives after the election.

“But if we have a large majority, we agree to make the necessary advances in the first year, it can work. If I am in power for the sake of power, it definitely is not, I refuse,” the head of government said Thursday in a interview with the news portal delfi.lt.

According to him, during this period he was forced to “run through the Seimas in search of votes.”

S. Skvernelis claimed that he could work in the coalition both with the Polish electoral campaign in Lithuania – the Union of Christian Families and with the Labor Party.

“I believe that everyone is a possible candidate in the coalition, depending on who will be the axial party that wins the most, which the president will entrust to form the government and the coalition. Of course this can be the case, and it will be the first time in Lithuania that there will be one or another small party whose decision can be decisive, be it from the left or the right. So all coalitions are possible, “he said.

“It is difficult for me to imagine, at least in theory, the LVŽS and the conservatives (coalition),” explained the head of government in the Delfi program.

The Seimas elections will be held on October 11.
