Valdemar Tomaševskis, president of LLRA-KŠS, is not hiding: the faction did not participate in the vote in principle. According to V. Tomaševskis, the text of the resolution initiated by the conservatives raises unjustified tensions between neighboring states. At that time, the opposition leader Gabrielius Landsbergis is convinced that the LLRA-KŠS is beginning to pose a threat to the security of Lithuania.

V. Tomaševskis: we will not participate in the conservative electoral campaign

V. Tomaševskis, President of LLRA-KŠS, confirmed to Elta that the faction had not deliberately participated in the vote on the resolution. According to him, the LLRA-KŠS takes the position in principle that the country should maintain good relations with all its neighbors. V. Tomaševskis is convinced that such resolutions only provoke unjustified tensions between neighboring states.

“Such resolutions do not help to improve relations with our neighbors. They simply create some tension. The priority of our party is that we must have good relations with all our neighbors, supplying Latvians, Poles, both Russia and Belarus. After everything, we don’t choose neighbors. Neighbors give us God, so we must be friendly with them, especially in the 21st century, and not escalate some tensions. Such resolutions only exacerbate and create tensions between neighbors. “This is the beginning of economic wars, sanctions that affect our citizens, because we also have economic relations with Belarus, “he told Eltai.

V. Tomaševskis is convinced that such resolutions are part of the Conservative Party’s electoral campaign.
“There are certain responsibilities, especially for our ministers. They cannot be held hostage by the conservative electoral campaign. The ministers also have other pressing matters,” he said.

At that time, the Minister of the Interior, Rita Tamašunienė, a member of the LLRA-KŠS faction, did not participate in the vote on the resolution because she was in a meeting at the Ministry.

“The minister was at a meeting at the Interior Ministry, so he did not have the opportunity to participate,” Elijah’s spokeswoman Božena Zaborovska-Zdanovič said.

Mr. Landsberg doubts that there are currently people in the fifth column of the Government

Conservative leader Gabrielius Landsbergis pointed out at the time that such a position by the LLRA-KŠS faction raises reasonable doubts as to whether there are currently people in the fifth column of the Lithuanian government. Mr. Landsbergis recalled that the members of LLRA-KŠS currently belong to two strategic ministries: the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport.

Therefore, according to him, the Lithuanian Polish election campaign is beginning to pose a threat to the security of the country and the transatlantic direction of Lithuania’s foreign policy.

“The Polish Lithuanian electoral campaign is not only a partner of the ruling coalition, but also directs and controls the ministries of great importance for Lithuanian national security: the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport. Recalling the collaboration of this group – Irina Rozova with the Russian special services and the call of Zbignev Jedinsky, the leader of their list, to bomb Kiev, we see that the anti-state position is a systemic feature of this organization.

Therefore, such a position of the parliamentarians of this faction and at the same time of the ministers raises a reasonable doubt, are there currently no people in the fifth column of the Lithuanian government? These politicians can no longer be responsible for the important structures and institutions for the national security of the state, because they are already beginning to pose a threat to the security of Lithuania and the transatlantic direction of Lithuania’s foreign policy, “he told Eltai.

R. Karbauskis: I was surprised myself that he did not participate in the vote

Ramūnas Karbauskis, leader of the “peasants”, stated that he did not know the reasons why the LLRA-KŠS faction did not participate in the vote on the resolution.

“I can’t answer why he didn’t participate, but it certainly has nothing to do with the resolution itself. The decision on the resolution itself was made this morning and I don’t think it has anything to do with it. Here are the unrelated things. I have no information that the position of the Polish electoral campaign in Lithuania has changed, “he said.
ELTA recalls that on Thursday the Seimas approved another resolution expressing concern about the situation in Belarus. The resolution was adopted unanimously with 91 votes in favor.

In a resolution on the illegal and imposed Russian union in Belarus, the parliamentarians called on the Russian authorities not to interfere in the internal and external policies of Belarus. The members of the Seimas are proposing to the international community that the possible agreements of the presumed president of Belarus Aliaksandr Lukashenko with Russia on a deeper integration of the countries be considered a crime against their nation and the annexation of the state.
This is the second resolution adopted at the initiative of the Lithuanian Seimas in response to events in Belarus after the rigged presidential elections. At the extraordinary session of the Seimas on August 18. The Seimas passed a resolution declaring Lukashenko an illegitimate leader. At that time, the resolution was supported by 122 parliamentarians, 2 members of the Seimas abstained.
