“I think the employment relationship. Everyone does their job. I focus – I have said it many times – on the scope and orderly work in the area entrusted to me. I’m doing it, ”Lithuanian politicians delegated by the Polish Lithuanian Election Campaign – Union of Christian Families (LLRA-KŠS) told the ministers on LRT radio.
According to J. Narkevičius, it should not be emphasized that the President, who had expressed a vote of no confidence last year, has repeatedly stated publicly that the Minister in the Presidency is undesirable. The politician made it clear that being an unexpected guest in one of the state authorities and not having a personal relationship with her is not a problem at all. According to him, it is enough that the Minister maintains good relations within the Government.
“I don’t focus on communication and non-communication, we have a government program. There are challenges, there are jobs that we focus on. I think people see it (…) We are very responsible and we communicate with the Government, in the Government we inform and make various proposals, thanks to which people see a great advance in the transport sector, ”said J. Narkevičius to the question of whether he is not going to retire anyway. He responded by paraphrasing the saying “cogito ergo sum” of the famous French philosopher René Descartes.
“I’m here as the Minister of Transport, I mean,” said the Minister of Transport, adding that despite the “secondary things”, everyone has a job to do.
“It just came to our notice then.” Everyone has a duty to do, and that’s what I do, “he said.
ELTA recalls that after a series of public scandals involving J. Narkevičius, President Nausėda expressed mistrust towards the Minister of Transport and Communications and repeatedly called in the public sphere for the dismissal of his incompetent and “easy to manipulate” policy. .
For his part, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, who introduced the minister to the president, did not overestimate the criticism expressed by the head of state to J. Narkevičius and did not even dare to discuss the possibility that the minister could be replaced. As the Prime Minister stated then, there is no legal basis for dismissing J. Narkevičius.
At that time, the opposition explained that the hands of the Prime Minister were tied, that the LLRA-KŠS, which is essential for the stability of the ruling majority, did not agree in principle to remove J. Narkevičius from office.
