The Los Angeles Clippers won Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Denver Nuggets and went ahead 2-1, despite an impressive performance from Nikola Jokičius.
Man of the match
Jokičius scored 32 points, bounced 12 balls, had 8 assists and, due to the foul limit, forced Ivica Zubačas to leave the Clippers’ main center early.
However, such a Serbian performance did not impress Clippers defender Patrick Beverley, who compared Jokičius ‘foul provocation to Luka Dončičius’ flair.
“Nobody plays mosquitoes the same way that Dončičius does and he does it all the time,” Beverley said. – Players of this style put a lot of pressure on the referees to make the decision they want. However, I think Zubač did a very good job and did what it took to win. This is the most important.”
Jokičius himself had a response to Beverley’s appeal for his post-match game.
“They threw 26 free throws, we threw 10. I’m just trying to show the referees that it was really a foul,” said the Serbian.
Beverley himself attacked the match umpire in Game 2 of the series with the Nuggets and was fined 25,000. A fine of USD.
The fourth series game will be played at night from Wednesday to Thursday at 4 pm
