“It just came to our knowledge then. In fact, I painted everything for the first time, but I saw that I was doing quite well. And all the bets and the making are already my husband’s merits. Although this is not his specialization, he has worked in the construction, so he knows how to do everything from scratch to the end, ”says V.Ašmonė.
We did absolutely everything for two with my husband, without anyone’s help.
Although the construction lasted five years, according to Victoria, it was possible to live in the cabin after three or four years, because only the last highlights remained:
“We worked on weekends, usually not all, but only on Saturdays, because we wanted to have at least one day off a week, sometimes during holidays, but not” from to “either. When we had the time and the desire, we worked on it. As soon as winter ended, the warm season started and construction started right away, it wasn’t too much at the time. “
Little by little the necessary articles and furniture were acquired. Since the couple weren’t in a rush with construction, they tried to stock up on stores or look for items others no longer needed, which helped match; now the farm planted about 8,000. But if they had bought it all new, they would have had to spend twice as much.
“As we had a place to live, the house was built only for the summer, so we were not in a hurry to install it. We requested a campaign, see that someone else no longer needs anything, someone in their house is bored and wants to renovate, we we took everything home. We had materials from the past that were standing and waiting for us to use them, “says V. AšmonA.
Victoria credits her husband not only for the construction, but also for other equipment, and argues that the current appearance of the farm is just the fruit of her husband’s imagination.
“He can’t do any projects and now, like making a new bathtub, he can’t sit still. Everything happens during free time. If you do not know exactly how and what should be implemented, if some innovation or something that you have not done before is to look for information, but for the rest, the whole project, how things should look both internally and externally, is your fantasy. When asked what the feelings were when a fully equipped house built with his own hands was already in front of his eyes, V.Ašmonė answered in one word: good.
“Friends come, acquaintances, everyone screams, how cute, flour, the nature around is very beautiful. Here are all the necessary comforts, everything that would be at home in the city, so much so that we still have nature around. I had no expectations, but the result was better than I thought, ”says Victoria.
The couple’s work on the farm does not end, although V.Ašmonė laughs and says that he has had enough, her husband, on the contrary, has plans. In the future, the family intends to build a country house, adjust the pond bridge, and the mistakes made during construction become apparent, which must be adjusted to make life even more comfortable.
