According to the Trakai District Municipality, the elderly man from Aukštadvaris, Laimis Kvedaravičius, became infected after contact with the patient.
“He took the test after learning that he had been in contact with a COVID-19 victim last week. The old man from Aukštadvaris was isolated and treated at home, ”is written on the municipality’s Facebook page.
It also indicates that epidemiologists are currently looking for contact persons and the municipality has taken other precautions.
“Other elders of the district elders are also isolated for two weeks, because together with the sick, as it turned out now, they have communicated in a meeting held in the municipality,” said the municipality.
Its facilities are currently being disinfected.
The mayor of the Trakai district, Edita Rudeliene, could not be reached by BNS on Saturday night, but the head of the municipality announced that he had no direct contact with the patient on Facebook.
There are a total of eight elders’ posts in the Trakai district: Aukštadvaris, Grendavė, Lentvaris, Onuškis, Paluknis, Rūdiškės, Senieji Trakai and Trakai.
To date, 3,040 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania, 989 people are still ill, 1,952 people have recovered, and 86 people have died from the coronavirus.
