Two rooms of the Antaviliai pension died of coronavirus

“We have the information received by phone, it has not yet been officially confirmed in writing,” said Rolanda Lingienė, director of the NVSC Vilnius department.

According to Birutė Šarakauskienė, deputy director of the Antaviliai pension, one room died on Saturday and the other on Monday.

“Both women were at risk and had concomitant chronic diseases. One was 82 years old and the other 85 years old,” she said.

According to R. Lingienė, these deaths are not yet included in official statistics.

According to the representative of the Antaviliai pension, a total of 34 people were infected with coronavirus at the institution: 21 residents and 13 employees.

“The population that has not been studied so far is being studied,” said B. Šarakauskienė.

Investigative responses are currently pending for approximately 200 rooms.

As reported by the NVSC on Monday, it was decided to examine all residents of the Antaviliai pension, which became the focus of the coronavirus, after it became clear that the employees did not meet the requirements for teamwork.

In Lithuania, 1,491 cases of coronaviruses were confirmed on Tuesday.

To date, a total of 50 coronavirus deaths have been reported, and four other people infected with coronavirus have died from other causes.
