A man and a woman driving cars were killed, Police Department guards immediately reported Thursday afternoon.
PD’s Operational Control Division soon clarified and further reported that the truck, possibly due to a blown tire, had clogged and collided with three passenger cars at once. In the accident, a man driving a Hyundai Santa Fe (b. 1978) and a woman driving a Toyota Avensis (b. 1985) died. The truck driver was taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained. No one was hit from the third car.
Other circumstances are still under investigation.
Greta Frajerytė, Chief Specialist, Communications Branch, Telšiai County Police Chief Commissariat 15 minutes reported that currently (around 4 pm) on the Kuršėnai – Mažeikiai road, after the traffic accident, the flow of the rest of the traffic (from the Kuršėnai side) is still diverted onto the gravel road.
15 minutes remember that this is the second tragic accident this Thursday: before noon, a truck and a car also collided in the Trakai district: one person died.
