Women were murdered
A pre-trial investigation into the murder and destruction or damage to property is currently underway. The investigation is being conducted by officials from the Siauliai County LSC Criminal Police Serious Crimes Investigation Board. According to preliminary findings by experts, 50 years ago the housewife and her 28-year-old daughter were abused.
Yesterday, September 1, in the center of Raseiniai at around 7:45 p.m. A 35-year-old resident of the Raseiniai district was arrested, who today is a suspect in the possible murder of women. The man was searched by the police with information that she could have been violent against the partner and her mother and set fire to the house in which they lived together. The man is suspected of violent violence against women as a result of the conflict, and later, after spilling flammable liquid, suspected of gasoline, he set the house on fire and fled.
Officials were unable to locate the suspect
Ramūnas Sarapas, the head of the Šiauliai County Police Chief’s Police Station, reported at a press conference that on Sunday around 5 pm, the police received a report on domestic violence. The women told officials who attended the event that there was a conflict with their partner. Both women were intoxicated, there was no possible abuser at home. Officials did not notice any obvious signs of violence against women.
According to R. Sarapo, the agents were looking for a perpetrator in the area, around 8 o’clock at night it was decided to inspect the houses where the violence had occurred in the vicinity, but the agents saw a residential house that was already on fire. Special services were called immediately.
It turns out that the bodies of two women were found at the fire station, so officers immediately began to suspect that a heinous crime had been committed.
