“I feel very good. I’ve been feeling really good for two weeks. When I heard the news that I was really healthy, I felt very good and today I am full of energy, I am ready to get to work and start the season ”, – broadcasts Delphi Day at the beginning says J. Sakalauskas.

Urge people to be careful

According to him, although the disease is serious, people cannot shut down and live without the surrounding people and culture.

“The disease is very serious and especially for those who are in serious shape. I am a young enough person and I am already afraid. (…) On the other hand, I would like to say something else: you need to live, you don’t need to close. The vaccine is still a long way off, but you must be careful, you must avoid some contact, but you must live. It is not possible for a person to live without other people, without culture, but now it seems that it is necessary to do so in a more secure way, ”says J. Sakalauskas in the program.

I couldn’t have imagined such a scenario

According to him, J. Sakalauskas could not even have dreamed of such a scenario that he would fall ill.

“I was convinced that it would not affect me or my children, the environment. In the theater, we meet extremely high safety requirements and follow all recommendations. The fact that I was going to get sick was not such a scenario, even in my worst nightmare. Everything went as it was. I got sick, although I did not believe it, because the virus in me and generally very rarely in the cabin.

I got this form, although you can tell I didn’t even have the flu. I admit that perhaps this was not the worst case, but the setting was not the most pleasant, ”says J. Sakalauskas.

J. Sakalauskas admits that he is concerned not only that people may get to the theater or the people who interacted with it.

“I’m not so afraid that people will start avoiding me, but the people around me, the theater people, the leaders. I don’t want to stress anyone, although I know completely who is who, but both me and the theater are fully tested. This is definitely a safe place today, ”he says.

Fell ill in early August

In the first half of August, when it became clear that J. Sakaulauskas was ill, his ex-wife Agnė Sabulytė also reported the illness.

The theater director said he did not know where he may have contracted the coronavirus because he had not gone abroad at the time, did not communicate with people who would be diagnosed with the coronavirus. J. Sakalauskas says he avoided communication with the theater groups, and this week he had closer contact with various theater employees, mainly management.

“So far, there are solutions to disinfect the theater, stop work, investigate possible contacts and return to work for those who do not have those risks,” said J. Sakalauskas.
