The confrontation between Latvia and Lithuania started with active play by both teams, but the Lithuanians managed to take the initiative into their own hands and control the game. Self-confidence gave a positive result: the Lithuanians noticed a dangerous attack in the middle of the first half and exploded.
However, the tournament hosts were not lost and the image in the square stabilized again, and both Latvians and Lithuanians had the opportunity to stand out. After the siege at the gates of the Lithuanian team, the Latvians found the gap defended and used it to level the score. At the end of the match, the Latvians still staged a decisive round, but the Lithuanians ‘strong position in defense and E. Urbonas’ reliable play in goal ensured a 1: 1 draw.
