Last weekend Šventoji’s friends booked a four-bed cabin for a cozy holiday. According to Maximilian, at the time of booking, when making a payment through the Booking platform, it was clear what the buyer was ordering: they were photos of wooden houses. Therefore, without suspecting anything, the friends immediately paid all the money – 180 euros for three nights.

However, on the agreed day, the group stopped when the administrator escorted them home. As he says, it was a simple mobile home on wheels, popularly called a caravan.

“It’s a shame to expand even after paying such an amount, there was no bedding and no bathroom! We were convinced that there was a mistake, because the house was presented during the pre-order, and I also asked for money as a house, not a caravan, which is cheaper ”, says Maximilian.

The official website of the Holy Homes announces that from July to August 23. the price of a wooden house with four beds per day is 60 euros, at that time the price of a mobile home of the same size is 40 euros.

Currently, after consulting the prices on the Booking platform, the same four-seater caravan costs 44 Eur, while a four-seater house costs 53 Eur.

“The administrator assured that a caravan was reserved for us. He refused to examine the complaint and deepen, he does not want to return the money. When we were asked to give the contacts of the owners, they offered us not to waste time, because exactly the day before the situation was identical to that of other clients who received the same car when ordering the house, but the owner did not enter in any language ”, says the interlocutor.

At first they thought they were wrong

Despite the loss of 200 euros in cash, during the heat of the season, the friends had to find another place to live in a short time: “We want to warn everyone who wants to stay here to be passionate, because selling a cat in a bag is your asset. “

The man admits that the type of cabin mentioned in the booking confirmation is a mobile home, but according to him, completely different information was provided during the booking: “At first we saw the confirmation and started to think that maybe it was our mistake. But we know exactly that at the time of booking we had chosen a normal cabin, in addition, its price is much higher. At that price, we would never have taken a caravan in our lives.

When we arrived, we were immediately asked “Do you know what you asked for?” We were a bit surprised by this question and, in the end, not in vain, because they led us to the caravan. Then we immediately started to check all the order information and saw that the photos had already changed. “

The interlocutor recalls that the administrator assured that no one had changed the photos, and that the Booking platform itself may have discarded the wrong photos at the time of booking. According to him, Booking reported that he provides the photos that the owner sends.

“We were all upset, the idea that it was our fault came up again until the administrator herself said that before we arrived there was a similar situation with other clients who initially thought they had booked a house and received a caravan,” says Maximiliano.

Administrator: reserve prices are always higher

Delphi After contacting Vytautas Budginas, a 12-year-old house rental manager in Šventoji, he assured her that the management had not changed any information for many years.

Commenting on the misunderstanding that took place last weekend, he notes that it was a customer error. The interviewee assured that he had all the proof: “Everything in the reservation contract is clearly established: what he ordered, how much he paid and all the photos.”

When asked why the company got a cheaper caravan after paying for a wooden house, the administrator explains that the prices on the website and the booking platform do not match, as the platform charges additional commissions.

“The fact that they pay a thousand does not mean that they get a house. Booking a weekend always has higher prices with us. Booking is our partner, they buy from us: we sell at a standard price, they charge a commission. This is how it is spent a larger amount for a caravan, the same as for cabins. Without intermediaries, our prices are those indicated on the website “, says V. Budginas.

“People who like to book through the reservation system pay more. They and we are so” at risk “because what they have ordered will receive 100%. From my point of view, this is why customers pay more, “he added.

The administrator emphasized that it was a customer error, as he was looking at one piece of information and ordering another. According to him, customers who ordered a mobile home on the last weekend of August could not even see the wooden houses as an option, as they are all booked well in advance.

“They paid 180 euros for a mobile home. We had no wooden houses at that time for a long time, their reservations are 2-3 weeks in advance, so they could not even show you photos of these houses.

For them, Booking was able to display photos in a shared gallery and they looked at the prices on our site, but that doesn’t mean that price will be. On our page, an asterisk indicates that prices are subject to change, ”says the manager of the cabins in Šventoji.

The interlocutor openly says that this year there have been three of the same misunderstandings, but as he says, two out of three customers have realized their mistake and have not disputed it.

“Upon arrival, the guests said they had asked for something completely different, but after looking at the order, they realized they had ordered it themselves. The main mistake is that people look at one but ask for another.

We always try to help the customer get what they want for an additional charge. In this case, I could not offer anything, because everything sold out a couple of weeks ago, “he said.
