The border guards who stopped at Skuodas knew what to look for: the driver faces a fine of several thousand

The SBGS announces that on Thursday evening, officers from the Criminal Intelligence Division of the Pagėgiai Border Team in Šilalė district, on the Kaunas – Klaipėda highway, stopped the Nissan Almera Tino car with Lithuanian numbers for inspection.

Skuodiškės, 64, was driving the car to the port city. Border guards already knew that this car could carry illegal cargo.

After inspecting the car, SBGS officers found 4 black plastic bags in its trunk containing 2,000 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes with Belarusian stamps.

Administrative procedures have been initiated for the circulation of goods subject to special taxes in violation of the established procedure. The driver of a Nissan Almera Tino is fined between 5,200 and 6,000 euros.

The smuggled car and cigarettes are stored at the Pagėgiai border team.
