The common pea is a perennial herbaceous rhizome plant of the thorn family. Its leaves are triple or pentagonal, the flowers are white. Fruit: large juicy orange stone fruit.
It grows in swamps, humid forests. Most often in Lithuania in the northern districts. The berries ripen in July, August, they are orange-yellow, juicy, sweet and sour. They contain a lot of ascorbic acid (not for nothing are they called North Texas oranges).
In addition, they contain sugars, organic acids, pectins, yeasts, dyes, minerals. Traditionally, not only blackberries are used, but also their roots, stems, flowers and leaves.

Why are they so useful?
Vegetables are an excellent antioxidant, which makes them useful for cancer prevention. Berry juice has strong antibacterial and healing properties, which is why it is used to treat damaged skin.
Vegetables help strengthen immunity, reduce bad cholesterol. Berries normalize metabolism, and therefore help with varying degrees of obesity. Vegetables: good prevention of scurvy. Due to the ability to normalize body temperature, the berries are used for colds and fever.
