This means that until December of this year the 2.4 km section of the regional highway that runs through the town of Dainava will not be renewed, for which 400 thousand LTL have been allocated. and a 1.7 km long road through the city of Turgeliai – by order of the Minister, he was charged 271 thousand euros. euros.

The new revised Ministerial Order of August 3 does not include these roads.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Virgaudas Puodžiukas says that after the Highway Administration has drawn up a work plan, it has become clear that these projects will not be implemented this year.

“There will be no prediction that the reconstruction of the roundabout will be planned in one of these settlements (Turgeliai – BNS), the situation is very bad there, and due to the complexity of the works it was decided to move on to next year”, said V. Puodžiukas to BNS.

The former head of the Directorate of Roads, Vitaly Andreev, who was fired shortly after revealing the funding for these non-priority highways, said they were not in the direction’s spring application and did not meet the criteria set by the ministry, which required project contracts to be signed by July 1 and work was completed in late November.

According to V. Andrejev, the Turgeliai and Dainava roads are not the worst in Lithuania in terms of pavement condition: the first is at 155th place on the priority list and the second – 224th.

It is not speculated that the reconstruction of the roundabout is planned in one of these settlements (Turgeliai – BNS), the situation there is very bad, and due to the complexity of the works it was decided to move to next year.

According to V. Puodžiukas, the released funds are intended for the roads of the Vilnius, Kaunas, Plungė and Anykščiai districts, whose projects will be implemented at the end of November.

“We are trying to ensure that all funds are used on time,” added the vice minister of transport.

At that time, the Highway Administration informed BNS that a new object had appeared in the revised order: 1.6 million. Euros are allocated for the repair of the 144-146 km section of the Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda highway. In addition, the amounts allocated to some roads have been reduced since the Directorate has bought the works cheaper than expected.

The funds are distributed from 150 million. an additional money package for roads, which the government plans to revive the country’s economy after the crisis.

Another 300 thousand. In June, J. Narkevičius allocated € 1 billion in the Road Administration application for the paving of a 1 km long regional road from Šklėriiai to Aluona village in Trakai district; this financing has not been canceled.

According to V. Andrejev, the asphalt project of this gravel road was also not prepared, its transfer was negotiated with the municipality of the Trakai district, only after receiving the approval of the council, the road could enter the asphalt program of roads of gravel.

“We are still awaiting the decision of the municipal council regarding this object – the important regional highway for the state Šklėriai-Aluona I,” the Highway Administration told BNS on Monday.

According to V. Puodžiukas, the road to Aluona is believed to be paved by the end of November, and if it is not, the funds will be redistributed to other objects: “No one here does anything by force.”

To dispel doubts about a possible conflict of public and private interest, J. Narkevičius withdrew funding for a local road in the village of Varnikai near Trakai in June, where his wife and brother have a farm.

The Trakai district is the electoral district of J. Narkevičius, and in the Šalčininkai district council, as in the Vilnius district, the majority is in the hands of Lithuania’s Polish electoral campaign, the Union of Christian Families, which has delegated to the minister in the Government.

J. Narkevičius, who lives in Trakai, in three districts: Vilnius, Trakai and Šalčininkai, out of a total of 150 million. The SNB estimates the package of 18.5 million euros of which the Vilnius district received around 9.8 million. EUR (of which EUR 3 million for the Mickūnai nursing home only), around EUR 7.1 million for Trakai. EUR (of which EUR 2.16 million for the section from Old Trakai to Guopstai), Šalčininkai – around EUR 1.63 million. euros.
