According to the party, 49 candidates for the “Path of Courage” will run in the constituency of various members, including former members of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, lawyers, businessmen, union representatives and members of non-governmental organizations.
However, as Delfi wrote earlier, N. Venckienė’s candidacy will inevitably come to a halt.
“Submit application documents. We will verify that you do not meet the requirements and we will not register you as a candidate. When we publish the lists of candidates 30 days before the elections, if there are candidates who do not meet the requirements of the law, they will not be registered as candidates for the elections, ”explained Laura Matjošaitytė, president of the CEC.
N. Venckienė lost his mandate as a member of the Seimas in 2015 due to absenteeism. The Constitutional Court has declared that by failing to carry out his direct work, N. Venckienė has broken his oath and has seriously violated the Constitution. For the first time in the history of Lithuania, the impeachment hearing of a member of the Seimas took place in absentia, because N. Venckienė hid from law enforcement agencies in the United States.
