Yesterday afternoon, Raimondas Senulis, a Radviliškis district police officer, was driving a service car on the Panevėžys – Šiauliai highway and noticed a tractor maneuvering suspiciously with a semi-trailer in front of him.
The truck was distracted, sliding it onto the curb and into the opposite lane, so the officer immediately began to stop it.
The movements of the 63-year-old driver, who got out of the truck, were not coordinated, the language was incoherent and the smell of alcohol spread through him. Although the man claimed to have consumed alcohol at night, after many failed attempts to bust, the breathalyzer finally registered an average binge of 2.29 per thousand.
Later, it became clear that the man was carrying cargo on the Kaunas – Šiauliai route, so when he stopped near Šeduva, he had already traveled a considerable distance.
The head of the company where the driver works has said that so far he has not had any problems with the employee. The man has been working for the company since February of this year.
Fortunately, the tow truck was interrupted by a suspicious police officer.
