United States President Donald Trump said the government should receive a “significant percentage” of the proceeds from the sale of the US division of TikTok to Microsoft.

Trump told reporters that the United States would allow a Chinese-owned video program to be sold, so it deserves a share of the revenue, either from China or Microsoft.

The president of the United States said he informed the Microsoft executive about it during an interview over the weekend.

He also warned that on September 15. It will ban a program owned by China’s ByteDance in the absence of a deal.

VŽ wrote that Microsoft announced Sunday that it would continue negotiations with the Chinese company on the acquisition of the US division of TikTok after the company’s CEO spoke to D. Trump.

Short threatened on Friday a total ban on a hugely popular program in the US on national security grounds, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday that the president intended to crack down on TikTok.

Previous media reports said Trump intended to demand that the platform’s owner, the Chinese company ByteDance, sell the US-based division.

The Wall Street Journal wrote Saturday that Microsoft’s plans to buy TikTok’s U.S. operations were halted when Trump threatened to ban the program entirely.
