The investigation is being carried out at the Klaipeda City Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutor Darius Alekna says he does not ask to arrest the suspect.
“The driver has another pretrial detention obligation: a written commitment not to leave, and he must register with the police twice a week,” the prosecutor told Delfi.
After the accident, according to the prosecutor, the passengers exploded. Police officers detained two men at the scene. They were both intoxicated. At first it was not clear who was driving them. Immediately after the accident, five men got out of the Mercedes, three of which crashed. The remaining two men were arrested. They were both intoxicated.
