Polish media: Trotile cartridges exploded on Kaczynski’s plane during repairs in Russia

Late last week, the Polish parliamentary defense committee received interim results from the new investigation into the 2010 Tu-154 plane crash. The film, shown to committee members, reveals that two explosions crashed upon landing in the plane, reports Planeta.pl.

On April 10, 2010, Lech Kaczynski’s “presidential” plane “Tu-154” crashed upon landing at one of Smolensk’s airports. The plane was flown by 96 people: 88 passengers and eight crew members. It was politicians and high-ranking soldiers in Poland who flew to commemorate the Katyn massacre in Russia. No man survived.

In 2011, the International Aviation Committee issued a final report on the technical investigation of the disaster. He alleges that the plane crashed due to the crew’s decision to land at the main airport without choosing a backup option, and that the systemic cause was flight safety errors and poor crew preparation.

The first commission formed by the Poles presented similar conclusions, citing the fact that the plane did not choose a safe altitude when landing in conditions of heavy fog. Errors from Russian dispatchers were also identified.

However, not everyone agreed, so another study was conducted.

The new commission, chaired by current Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz, presented an interim report on several years of work to parliamentarians on Thursday. He claims that the accident was caused by two explosions: in the left wing and in the central part of the plane.

The explosions, according to members of the Polish commission, are evidenced by the nature of the damage to the aircraft and the location of the wreckage on the ground. Experts were also impressed by the nature of the injuries sustained by people who flew on the plane, writes Dziennik.

The report claims that many of their bodies were simply destroyed, at 74 percent. the victims were partially or completely without clothes, as if overwhelmed by a strong wave of explosion. 47 percent severely burned people. After all, many bodies were severely affected by shards: glass, aircraft interior trim, and even details of steel structures.

The report has also been criticized in Poland itself.

The report also claims that the first explosion destroyed the plane’s left wing. Then a second explosive was fired, which was installed near the so-called “commander compartment” in the central part of the lining. It was the second explosion that killed part of the Polish political elite.

Experts from the second commission rejected the version of the disaster that hit the ground. “This is contradicted by a series of detailed tests put together and the results of many experiments and studies,” the report said. He also claims that Russian investigators have taken steps to ensure that the real causes of the disaster are not clarified.

The Commission states that the Polish and British laboratories where the investigation was carried out detected fragments of trotile, pentritus and RDX explosives. It is noted that traces of explosives were found in those parts of the aircraft that were replaced by Russian technicians during the 2009 part of the Polish-owned Tu-154 aircraft. The Polish commission discovered that the trotile was found in those parts (from the inside) that no one touched, except Russian techniques.

The study presented by the Commission has been criticized by the Polish opposition. According to Maciej Lasko, the first member of the commission, after so many years of work, the report itself should be presented, not a “movie about it.” He also criticized the criteria for selecting specialists during the commission’s work.

Russian authorities deny the allegations of organizing the explosion. The country’s Investigative Committee emphasized that no traces of explosives were found in the remains and bodies, and there are no doubts as to the causes of the disaster.

Belarusian police unexpectedly arrested 33 employees of the Russian private military company Vagner. Authorities said more than 200 smugglers could have arrived in Belarus to “destabilize the electoral campaign.” The detainees have been prosecuted for terrorism. Russian experts say mercenaries have become hostages to political games.
