A monk from the Lord’s Revelation monastery in Kretinga was diagnosed with coronavirus in early July when he returned from the Czech Republic.

The 54-year-old man felt the symptoms on July 4. The parishioner who traveled with him also became infected.

The monk was admitted to the Klaipeda University Hospital. Her condition was rated “complicated,” with inflammation affecting both lungs.

Earlier this week, Vinsas Janušonis, chief physician at Klaipėda University Hospital, announced that no patient diagnosed with COVID-19 had been hospitalized in the port city.

However, as 15 minutes Pastor A. Kungys said, this message does not mean that the sick monk was released home. On the contrary, last week he was taken to Vilnius for further treatment. “It just came to our attention then. An artificial coma was inflicted on the monk and he was taken to the Santara Clinic. But we hope for the best,” the pastor commented briefly.
