Joachim felt bad when he was on vacation with his family in a castle belonging to the Danish royal family in south-western France.
“According to the doctors, after hospitalization and treatment in the intensive care unit in recent days, Prince Joachim will not experience any physical consequences of the resulting blood clot,” the royal palace said.
The prince is expected to be transferred from the intensive care unit in the near future, but he will have to remain in the hospital “for some time.”
“The thrombus was formed due to sudden damage to the artery wall. According to the hospital medical team, if the artery heals, the chances of the clot forming again will be very low, “said the Royal Palace.
Joachim is sixth in line to the Danish throne after his older brother, Crown Prince Frederick and their four children.
