“I still don’t have data this morning, but unfortunately there are an increasing number of such cases, the circumstances of which cannot be determined. Early this morning, we reported 7 new cases today, 2 of which epidemiologists were unable to elucidate the circumstances of the infection during afternoon and night. According to July data, there are such cases, they represent up to 24 percent. This is really a lot, it represents more than a fifth of all new cases registered in Lithuania, “R. Lingienė told Radio Lithuanian on Tuesday.

According to her, it is common for some cases to remain unsolved in epidemiological investigations. However, these cases are on the rise and this is cause for concern.

The most common cases of COVID-19 infection are related to sources identified in companies, family celebrations or are imported from other countries.

According to R. Lingienė, those cases, the circumstances of which cannot be determined, are more likely to be caused by contact with people who do not feel symptoms, since the symptoms of the disease may appear after three days and some carriers of Viruses may not appear at all.
