Representative of the public institution R.Steponavičienė 15 minutes He shared the impressions of the recent weekend. This year’s celebration was unusual in its format. The big events at the Cruise Terminal, Theater Square, were abandoned, and the big stages weren’t even staged here. There was no festive procession or large fireworks. The events were moved by tugs that stopped at different locations in the port city and the artists continued to move after a 15 minute program.

The real challenge for the organizers was to install all the equipment in unprecedented “stages”: tractors. He had to think about his movement, his turning paths. All this was rehearsed until the great weekend. And the artists themselves, who have never acted in such unique scenes, rejoiced with the ingenuity of the organizers. Vidas Bareikis, who gave a concert in Klaipeda on Friday, later called the Sea Festival a “party festival” on social media.

For artists, this task became a kind of challenge. The stage professionals, who generally screamed for an hour on stage, this time took two and a half hours each. When the program dropped after fifteen minutes, they had to move from the stage to move to another place, greet the public again and repeat the program. And so on several occasions.

“We are grateful that you have understood, are determined, and have a result. The plan was difficult, but the technical team, both on the mobile platforms and on the ship, worked hard, ”said the woman, since the concerts also took place on a ship that was sailing on the Dane River.

Guerrilla plan

Organizers suggested, as they say, a guerrilla movement and encouraged guests to move around and search for events scattered throughout the old town. There were around 40 of them. Usually this number was about 100.

Half, around 400, were merchants this year, and for security reasons, located a few meters away, they spread out over a larger area. These decisions were dictated by the coronavirus and the requirements still in force for large events.

“It just caught our eye then. People moved, walked, and when the crowds formed, they disappeared after 15 minutes, because that was the duration of the events,” said R. Steponavičienė.

According to the interlocutor, the beginning of movement this year allowed the celebration to be felt not only in the places where it was generally held, but also filled the entire old town.

“It just caught our eye then. On Friday, we received a lot of questions from people about why event times are not announced, some places, but for the safety of everyone and for everyone who comes, we reviewed the security plan for a month and a half, and the decision was to go, move, search and find The name “Dating with the wind” paid off in the same way, although it was coined before the pandemic, before quarantine. that we should have an interesting vacation, a tribute to the sea, but it also had to be a safe vacation. We would like to thank both the partners and the participants, the guests, for hearing that they believed that we could all play this game, “he said. one of the organizers.

Safety and security again

Audible cues kept ringing in the festival territory, urging people not to gather and move.

“And the guests listened to us: they walked, they searched. Maybe the rainy rain that Friday when we joked, sanitized the holidays, set foot in the merchants, but we as organizers had a good rehearsal before Saturday. Those crowds of people, and we really hoped they would be bigger, dissipated very quickly as the performances broke up after 15 minutes, and it was a tool we were able to use to manage the crowd. Only once during the S. Prūsaitis performance did we see that the concentration of the crowd of up to 1000 people in one place was achieved. One song was removed for security. We had a clear plan, the technical team decided to shorten the performance, – said R. Steponavičienė. – The new format, go, sailing, has been correlated with a safe Sea Festival. He has paid for us. We say not only as organizers, but also partners, Klaipeda chief police commissioner. On vacation, the pace of his work used to be the same as on weekends. Friday was much calmer than usual. And the doctors did not have bad knowledge, they worked in the usual way. The Maltese provided a report with just a few scratch stats. On the security side, we implemented the plan, for fear of heavy congestion. “

Due to food security, festival participants had to wear masks during the event.

There were disinfectants in the festival area. They were widely used by the guests, as the organizers still had to deal with their replacement.

This year, the celebration could also be viewed remotely. The events were seen both on portals and on social media by tens of thousands of people who fled or were unable to attend the Sea Festival. Foreign Lithuanians were especially pleased with this opportunity.

Although it is not known what conditions will be held next year’s celebration, it is considered that this year’s winds and the proven format will remain somewhat in other events.

Officials rejoiced: there was only one crime in the celebration

“At least based on the information available so far on the pre-trial investigations that have been launched and the materials received, the Festival of the Sea has been truly silent and serious incidents have been avoided.” 15 minutes said Asta Kažukauskienė, Chief Specialist of the Communication Branch of the Klaipėda County Chief Police Station.

Over the weekend, 20 pre-trial investigations were launched in the port city. So far, only one of them has been stolen from the Sea Festival area on July 26. An outdoor commercial umbrella worth 200 euros was reported to have been stolen on Tiltų Street at night. Last weekend several investigations were started in Klaipeda due to the illegal elimination of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances in order to distribute them, but these violations were not registered in the Sea Festival area, but in the Kairių street music festival .

At least for the time being, officials have not been notified of systemic crimes such as theft or violation of public order, but information about such crimes generally reaches officials a week after the event: some citizens lose their personal belongings due to negligence or increased alcohol consumption. Due to the possible breach of the isolation, only information was received about the family in the Klaipeda district, there are no reports of such violations during the Festival of the Sea.
