Representatives of the pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk and Lugansk also previously reported on the ceasefire agreement.

To date, two dozen attempts to implement a global ceasefire in eastern Ukraine have failed. The ceasefire is considered an important step before a new summit to tackle the war in Ukraine.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron have previously said they want to put Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky back on the negotiating table.

Pro-Russian separatists also said they had agreed to ban the use of drones and heavy weapons. The goal is to ensure the protection of civilians living on the front line, and retaliatory fire can only be authorized by top commanders.

It is true that Kiev does not speak of additional agreements.

Pro-Russian separatists have been fighting against the Ukrainian army in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions for 6 years. According to the United Nations, around 13,000 people died in Ukraine during the war. Russia still denies its direct involvement in the war in Ukraine.
