He also planned to apply for Seimas in 2016, but eventually abandoned his plans.
In addition, participation in the Seimas elections was considered to be hampered by dual citizenship: A.Guoga also has Australian citizenship.
In the same year, Guoga had announced that he had started a procedure to renounce Australian citizenship, but last year he revealed that this had not happened and that he did not intend to renounce his citizenship.
The Seimas Elections Law states that a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania who is not bound by an oath or promise with a foreign state may be elected a member of the Seimas.
If A.Guoga can run for the Seimas he will have to be evaluated by the CCA, the last day to decide on the registration of a candidate or a list of candidates is September 9.
It was possible to register as a participant in the political campaign until Monday, July 20.
The Seimas elections will be held on October 11.
