Retail chain Maxima has been informing the public about all cases of workers infected with COVID-19 since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yesterday, COVID-19 infection was detected in six employees in Vilnius. Maxima XXX Store, Mindaugo str. 11, the employee was at her workplace for the last time on November 11. She has no symptoms and was tested for COVID-19 because there were patients in the immediate area. A colleague, who may have had close contact, isolated himself. COVID-19 is also set up for an administrative office worker. He has been working remotely from home for some time, so he had no contact with colleagues.
The cases were diagnosed in two Maxima XXX stores, Savanorių ave. 247, for employees of an existing food production shop. One of them was last at his workplace on November 2, the other on November 9. Due to close contact, a colleague became isolated. COVID-19 also fell ill with an employee of another food production workshop in Vilnius, who has been in isolation since November 3. A logistics worker infected with coronavirus last visited her workplace on November 5. Five colleagues were isolated due to possible contact with the patient.
The COVID-19 infection was also detected in an employee of the Maxima XX store in Kėdainiai, J.Basanavičius 53. He was last at his workplace on November 5. A colleague, who had a close contact, isolated himself.
Shops and other premises where workers infected with COVID-19 worked were completely cleaned and disinfected.
A total of 149 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 49 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 1402 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. At present, responses to tests of 65 employees are still pending.
