Film giant Netflix, which discovered Lithuania, has repeatedly contributed to promoting the country’s name this year. At the beginning of the year, the film crew of the popular series Stranger Things worked in the closed prison of Lukiškės, where they filmed the fourth part of the so-called cult series.
It is true that the film crew in Lithuania expected snow, but since there was no snow, we had to use special effects. Series director Shawn Levy admitted that filming in Lithuania is extremely convenient due to the tax benefits and exclusive locations suitable for filming.
Lithuanian actor Juozas Budraitis could also partner with Netflix this year. He starred in the popular series The Queen’s Gambit. The actor entered the film invited by the selection agency. According to the actor, he was chosen based on the photo and later had to leave Lithuania to film.
